Grant Applicant - applied in 2019
We applied to the Rapid Response grant for Census 2020 work. I had met the Executive Director a few months ago to share with her about our work and she shared with me their funding goals, cycles and mentioned the rapid response grantmaking. She encouraged me if I have a need to share it with her. So a few months later the need arose and I reached out to her. She quickly connected me to her colleague and the ball was set in motion.
So make connections! Reach out. Talk to the program managers. They will guide you.

Good
Very accessible. Email and via phone. And very prompt response.
Good
This foundation is investing in MASA communities and funding POC led orgs too.
None at the moment. They are coming to town. So I'm really interested in seeing how the develop relationships in my state across the major foundations.
They have a new name The RISE Together fund.
Thinks bigger. Its not just about their foundation. They are working across the sector of philanthropy. That's really powerful in movement building.
