Advice from a Friend

Mccune Foundation

Feb 21, 2018

Grant Applicant - applied in 2017

This foundation is due to go out of business in 2029, in accordance with the founder's will. As the Foundation thoughtfully decides what to fund in the remaining years, they have narrowed their focus to nonprofits that have received more than $1 million in total grants from them in their entire history. There are over 100 grantees on that list, so if you are not on the list, don't bother to apply. For those on the list, this is an extremely thorough and thoughtful foundation that is interested in the long-term viability and sustainability of its grantee organizations.

Pros

Builds relationships, "Gets" nonprofits and issues
