Reviewer 5555 - Grant Applicant - applied in 2017

The LOI is due Nov 1st and if you are asked to submit a full application, that is due Feb 1st. Decisions are communicated July 1st. Funds provided by the foundation support activities that happen after July 1st. We are a policy organization working around our state's legislative calendar that usually runs January - June. We work now (fall) to determine our priorities for the legislative session but won't know if we got funded until mid-year. Things change quickly in the policy world these days. And this state will be getting a new administration in January, so in October we are not sure what we'll be facing--either a friendly administration or not. Trying to write an LOI in October for funding we'd only be able to spend after July 1st makes conforming to the foundation's timeline difficult. This is not responsive grant-making.
