They still follow the old model of United Ways being a fundraiser for community organizations. Seems odd these days as most of these organizations already have very robust fundraising arms. The organization also actively does not wish to fund any new organizations. They are not diverse in their staff nor the organizations that they fund. They play on thier "United" theme, but do little to unite the non-profit community. It is an exclusive club.
Inadvertently exerts negative influence in the field, Doesn't "get" nonprofits and issues, Difficult to work with, Culturally incompetent, Bureaucratic, Risk averse

I can't tell what their goals nor values are. Their community need survey is biased and poorly done. I question their honesty or understanding of community needs, as opposed to popular causes.
Be more innovative. Pay attention to more diverse groups of people.
If you aren't already "in", set up your own fundraising group.
