This foundation is accessible and very generous to our organization, but I know it can be challenging to apply if you don't have an existing relationship with them. In the past, it has been one of the more difficult/time-consuming grant applications to write and submit, but this year they've moved to an online application process that is similar to other major funders. It is much appreciated by this grant writer! It went from taking me 15 hours to 5 hours to get this grant submitted.

The foundation administrator is very accessible, but she appreciates applications submitted far in advance of the cycle deadline. My understanding is that they are not taking many new grantees, but sometimes can roll new ones into their rota as others drop off.

No suggestions really. They know what they want to fund, offer a clear process to apply for funding and grant funding in a timely manner.
The Board of Directors really wants to invest in the community and they fund a broad range of arts, human and social services needs. So appreciate their concern for the poor and those agencies that don't receive federal funding.
Clear application process. Can go back and ask why your application was not funded.
