If you had one piece of advice to give to this funder (about grantmaking or anything else), what would it be?

Include grant writers/development professionals in discussions. For a while, it seemed the foundation only wanted to talk to program folks. That process ignores the reality that in many smaller organizations, the grant writer may (for better or worse) be facilitating the conversations across programs, finance, evaluation, etc.
