The longtime senior program officer is who I generally speak with when I call. There seems to be a norm of discouraging letters of inquiry and grant proposals, describing chances of funding as slim. I am reluctant to believe this negativity reflects the entire grant making team’s approach.
Doesn't "get" nonprofits and issues, Difficult to work with, Culturally incompetent

Positivity and respect for all the worthwhile nonprofits in the community seeking funds is more important today than ever. Therefore, an attitude of privilege (e.g., program staff who already know how this proposal will fare with a board) is worrisome and defeating for smaller charities who are newer to the process of asking for grants.
The Trust is the oldest foundation in all of Colorado. Its commitment to people with disabilities is long-standing and impressive.
