The website can be a little difficult to navigate and comprehend. I love the language, but it could use more grounded information to make it easier to decipher.
Be really open with them. Be real with them. They will appreciate it.
They stress values more than any other foundation I know. They really want to find partners who are a good values fit. They are very humble.

Kalliopeia does amazing work supporting organizations that have mindful social change at their root. They accept LOIs on an ongoing basis. It is best to research mindfulness in general and the Kalliopeia grantees thoroughly before attempting to explain your organization's philosophy in a brief LOI.

Kalliopeia has been the backbone of numerous hard to fund prison and reentry programs. They spread a positive, spiritual sense of accomplishment across many areas of service, and I personally find support in their communications.
Consider invited events or attending panels for nongrantee grassroots nonprofits on your work with grantees. Might help folks unfamiliar with the language to recognize and expand the seeds of thoughtful action they already have in place.

If it first you don't succeed, consider why and build your impact data for the next request.
Kalliopeia does thorough vetting on their invited applicants, including site visits. If you and your work are worthwhile, they will recognize it.
