Be prepared and document everything. Through every step of the process, CPB has had a number of questions and requires immense preparation in advance of meeting with them. Also document everything and every decision made as you make decisions on the request. After submitting one proposal, it took five months for CPB to get back to me and they had a list of questions that needed to be answered before advancing our request.

I worked with this funder twice for a larger public media org. Working with this funder required a lot of staffing resources and I can't imagine what it would be like for smaller public media orgs who don't have development/grant writing staff to do this work.
