They post an application worksheet so that you can start working offline -- start, not finish, because there are a lot of other mandatory questions not included on the sheet (including at least one essay question!) The worksheet and question guide were both helpful, and I'd definitely recommend using them, but also be prepared to take a few hours filling in the other questions on the application itself.
They also ask for a few different financial numbers (amount currently in bank account, total amount raised, total amount raised from each source), which might be more or less difficult to hunt down depending on your org. Definitely give yourself time to look for them!

I am hopeful that the fellowship itself accomplishes its goals, but can't speak to that one way or the other. I can speak to the application process, which was excessive. I can't help but think that if we took 20+ hours, and 3,000 people applied, that's weeks of collective time spent, much of it wasted.
Put all of the questions you ask on the application worksheet! It was really helpful to have the worksheet ahead of time, but annoying to start the application and realize that there were more short essays to write, and financial information to compile.
It's a fellowship with funding attached, not a grant as such -- make sure that you qualify for (and are interested in!) the whole program offered before applying.
They provide most of their questions ahead of time, so that you can work offline!
