You must be invited to apply and they only provide funding to organizations and in areas they have decided to fund through their internal strategic plan. That said, once you get in, they invest a lot into your success.

Good
From what I can tell, they are doing a good job on their goals.
Good
Their strategic plans run for five years, so if they decide to fund you and all goes well, you could have funding for up to five years. At that point, though, you start hearing that they only fund for five years, that you are lucky to have been funded and you shouldn't expect any more, etc. It makes things really uncertain.
We were not told how much they would give us, so we prepared a budget that was too high and had to reduce it. I've heard stories the other direction, too (asked for too little and were asked to increase). It would just be easier if they would tell you how much they are going to give because it doesn't seem like their decision had anything to do with our ask. If it is all about the WFF budget, please give us an amount up front!
They are good at supporting their grantees with more than just money. They want to be your partner.

Be honest and upfront about the obstacles and potential threats to the successful implementation of your program. The staff is incredibly helpful in offering thoughts, pulling in resources, and guiding the process to ensure you arrive at a solid model.

Good
The staff is very responsive and provides definite direction to clear questions you pose. Some funders leave things grey and undetermined, it's very easy to communicate with their staff, even though I didn't have the luxury of meeting face-to-face.
Good
They consider all aspects of a healthy nonprofit - program costs, staffing, operations, capacity, etc.. which is fueling their goals.
Continue to collaborate with others!
I'm confident they listen to feedback and are open to new ideas.
