You seem to need an "in" or an inside champion in order to get funded. Our agency has hosted many groups of volunteers, and that relationship led to a symbolic donation but not to a level we were hoping for.
The staff are very responsive, easy to communicate with (phone and e-mail), and are very generous with their time and feedback.
