I recommend meeting with the foundation staff, ideally in person. It took a few planning meetings to fully outline the project, but once the vision and plans were drafted, the work and support they provided were totally on schedule and seamless. The up front investment of time was well worth the dedication and level of resources they contributed.

Good
The Templeton Foundation's staff were very engaged and responsive throughout the process; wonderful folks to work with.
Good
This is a very minor comment, but in the initial planning stage, the number of foundation staff participating was a lot; the foundation's team worked very well together, but I think it was a bit overwhelming for our client (a public school) to host so many guests. We eventually got into a very good working relationship though. :)
The Foundation has a very specific vision, but once they engaged us, they were great listeners who learned a lot from our school leaders. Thank you again, JTF, for supporting public schools!
The foundation approached our organization (school district) about collaborating on a project, but we did not have to complete a grant application. Much of the support came from in-kind donations of materials and labor.
The foundation's staff took great initiative throughout the process; they were thorough, detail-oriented, and planned all aspects of their donations and events to the "t".
