It's a tricky one to get into the door of. The staff is not super responsive and there are no processes (even for current grantees).
Doesn't "get" nonprofits and issues, Difficult to work with, Culturally incompetent

They are very focused, which is helpful, but I'm not sure how knowledgeable their staff is on the topic they are largely focused on (violence prevention) as it seems like they fund some odd ducks.
Better communication particularly with current grantees. We tended to be on an 18-month cycle because of their delayed responses to any communications. This made it hard to plan for program expansion or evaluation, which they were interested in supporting.
Flexible proposal (almost too flexible...no deadlines, no set proposal, etc.)
