There's better, but there are definitely a whole lot who are worse!
Please make your forms easier to fill out. They are really antiquated microsoft word docs that don't have fields so every time you type an answer it goes all wonky and takes 20 minutes to re-align. And the redundancy of asking for so many audit-based equations, percentages, ratios... this may not seem onerous to you but it is for small orgs who don't have full time grant writers or comptrollers!
This foundation funds many small organizations but their application process is SO SO SO ONEROUS! They give relatively small grants and the app is about 200% more labor-intensive than funders giving six-figure grants. For example they ask you to provide your audit and then they have a 5-page application section that asks you questions from your audit, like net assets etc. And calculating percentages of this and that... all of which they could do so easily since they ask for all the raw materials. Really frustrating. Dozens of attachments that have to be signed (small orgs don't have an easy time creating docs, finding the right staff members to sign, scanning and uploading... etc)
multi-year grants. Yay.
