Grant Applicant - applied in 2025
Requires an updated organization profile (mission, board, demographics, etc), project budget using their standardized form, recent financial statements, and an application. Application questions are reasonable. Grant size is enough to fund up to half a FTE. Full application questions are available for download - although the download contains sets of questions relevant to their various types of support, so you won't need ALL the questions. Scoring criteria are available for download. Portal allows multiple org users to collaborate. As per usual, character limits are the most difficult part of the application to meet. Staff are accessible and were able to help me troubleshoot technical issues with the new portal. GCRCF hosts free, quarterly nonprofit sessions, and even reviewed their grantmaking and offered breakout sessions with tips for applying at one session. Giving is responsive to community needs and grantee's needs.

For the donor advised funds, provide an average award/decline timeline, or provide a timeline per fund based on the funder's anticipated timeline. I like that you can apply for a bunch at once, but it would be nice if the donor advised funds were incentivized to give larger awards.
They will only fund the portion of work impacting Linn County, IA.
Incredible team, very knowledgeable, available to the community. They even have the option for operational and two-year grants. Lots of variety - program support, operational support, and competitive donor advised funds. They are listening to what nonprofits need.
