You should have a very traditional model for this donor. FP likes to be able to point at discrete work/impact that Focusing Philanthropy supports and claim credit. The biggest challenge with FP however is that FP makes a relatively small financial commitment and the organization has to raise the bulk of a "match" that is then donated through FP - as a result you are raising funds for FP to donate to you, and the funds are now restricted.

The foundation considers its niche to support effective smaller organizations, but they then ask us to contort ourselves to the behavior of old-school organizations - and has little understanding of the complexities our organizations navigate.
Two pieces: (1) To not be so condescending with organizations, (2) to not require the organizations to raise part of the funds that FP then donates to the organization.
Gives good feedback from field visits.
