This was our second proposal. Our first was denied, but the ED explained the problems and encouraged us to try again. She got permission to share another group's successful application with us. We learned a lot. We had a solid match and a good story this time. We were fully funded.

Good
They care about the specific local area in deep detail. We felt welcomed to the fold. They asked a lot of deep questions about our budget but they also allowed us to modify if when they discovered a problem with how we had framed it.
Good
We felt like they wanted to teach us and learn from us and be a partner.
We need and appreciate your help, but we're not used to being able to ask for it. Please keep offering.
They do ONLY capital and ONLY in Josephine County and a part of Jackson county, in Oregon. Operational and program grants will not succeed here. But they will tell you that.
Instruction for small new nonprofits.
