They can be quirky as far as what they'll fund or won't fund. But, it's worth a try--the process isn't too burdensome, just be sure you're in the service area they cover, both geographically and in terms of what you do/who you help.

Some of their funding choices don't always seem to match what they say they will fund. Choices seem a bit quirky and subject to the whims of the board members.
Be clearer about your priorities and stick to them. Be prompt in giving feedback and telling us what we're doing right or could do better.
Be patient--as with a lot of family foundations, they can be a bit unpredictable.
Helps smaller non-profits that many larger foundations won't bother with.
