They have been wonderful about being flexible with current grantees they trust. They should look more at funding coalitions that already exist, instead of looking to form new connections.
The regular application is pretty intimidating to new or low-resource small nonprofits, especially those who have never had an audit (because they're not big enough or can't afford one). More targeted outreach/focus on smaller groups working directly in low-resource communities would be helpful!
They do a great job of trying to evaluate their priorities on a regular basis, and of working to fund communities of color and social justice work.
