The grant process itself is fairly straightforward. The angst comes in when you have to actually work with the organization to announce the grant. Multiple, onerous layers of management must review. Weekly - and sometimes daily - meetings to "check in" with the same redundant agenda. It takes a lot of time to manage this grant.

Don't be a burden to those you fund. Realize that the benefit for the relationship with the grantee goes both ways. Anthem definitely gets something out of it, and they need to understand that the time requirements and multiple meetings with 12 or more people are ridiculous.
Communication is strong, likely because of the multiple meetings that must occur.
