Foundation staff is very accessible and helpful. They take the time to meet with you and learn about your organization, as well as give updates about the foundation and its priorities and direction.

I recommend reaching out to staff prior to making an ask - the staff are very open and transparent about their giving priorities and structure. They like straight-forward, realistic pitches as well as innovative solutions to community issues. Collaboration, cultural sensitivity and good business practices are also important to demonstrate.
