Terrific leadership, but all decisions are made by the volunteer grant committee members, so the site visit is actually more crucial to your success than the grant application. Still working off paper applications in 2019.
Gives more than money, Friendly, Builds relationships, Likes site visits, "Gets" nonprofits and issues, Openminded, Responsive

I think all United Ways are struggling, due to their business model. People want to be in touch with what their funding does very specifically, and standing in the middle between the donor and the grantee is kind of a no-win situation for them as a whole.
Keep hiring great people, you're doing a terrific job.
Fewer restrictions and less onerous reporting than any other United Way I've worked with. They also don't play the funding blackout card in their area, which is helpful.
