This funder is incredibly hands on for a small amount of funding. Additionally, this funder takes on a very punitive approach, and thinks that the funder knowing people in certain higher level / administrative stakeholders means grantees should be able to operationalize programs on the ground without barriers. Very frustrating to work with.
Inadvertently exerts negative influence in the field, Doesn't "get" nonprofits and issues, Difficult to work with, Culturally incompetent, Bureaucratic, Risk averse

This foundation wants to fund certain projects, which they seem to do consistently, but hamper efforts on the ground.
Stop interfering with programs you fund, and allow for mistakes. Small grants like these are excellent for funding pilots, and/or innovation, and sometimes those projects will fail. That doesn't mean they weren't worth investing in.
My experiences are from a few years ago; perhaps this funder has shifted; however, given the level of input the family has I doubt it.
They have impeccable taste in clothing.
