Agree with the comment that "It really helps to have an in at the foundation to guide your application. They prefer more story-telling grants rather than hard data."
There is not a lot of transparency or feedback for applications that are declined. It's hard to know how much to request and what kinds of programs they are interested in funding. It really helps to have an advocate for your organization during the review process.

I wish ACF would dialogue with nonprofits to really determine their needs. They tend to fund more "sexy" projects, rather than what the group truly needs. It really helps to have an in at the foundation to guide your application. They prefer more story-telling grants rather than hard data.
