They require site visits and have a rather lengthy application process - application due 7/31 and awarded by mid-January. They are not knowledgeable about nonprofit issues, so be prepared to explain this.

Because they are also fundraising for causes, it doesn't seem that they are about to dedicate a lot of time to the impact of their grantmaking. They are helping organizations do good things, just doesn't seem to be a focus of theirs.

Thanks to their membership of community-minded young men, it is fairly easy to find a connection to this funder (formerly Denver Active 20-30). They are all businessmen who want to see the return on their investment as they are working hard to raise funding for the grant program. The grant application is very lengthy and obviously not written by people with experience working in a nonprofit, so be prepared to spend some time on the proposal and unusual questions.

They are fairly responsive and meet with every applicant.

Their goal is to develop philanthropic leaders and impact disadvantaged children in the process. They seem to be meeting both of those goals, but I don't see that they are measuring that in any public way.
Take some time to learn about how other funders streamline their grantmaking process to minimize the burden on nonprofits. Your application and interview process are quite time-consuming compared to other funders. As a long-time grantee, we are repeating the same information every year. Could some of those basic questions about our organization be pre-populated in the application, and could the interview be shortened as a previous grantee?
They raise a lot of money and have a very genuine interest in staying true to their focus on helping children. The young men in their program are bright, energetic and kind-hearted.
