They have given awards to the same organizations consecutively and will give multi-year awards. They create space for their grantee cohorts to come together, share ideas, and address challenges. In my experience, they support nonprofits as the experts in the field.
They also usually provide grantee cohorts an additional capacity building service at no charge. These are usually some type of workshop series over several months focused on building fundraising skills, board development, environmental education, Diversity/Equity/Inclusion. They hire high-quality consultants to lead these workshops.
