Grant Applicant - applied in 2024
The application took a long time. They wanted a lot of information on a written application and you can also send in a video in addition to the long written application. Then the grants committee had two volunteer committee members meet with us for 45 minutes to go over our application, but they used that time to try to tell us what to do with our programs, and how to manage our operations, even telling us how we should utilize volunteers. When we go the meeting request, we got excited because we thought we were close to being awarded. But the meeting was a complete waste of our time and we were not funded. We will not be applying to this foundation again. If they do you give a grant, they are likely to want to tell you how to run your organization.

Shorten your application, and don't require the interview unless you've already decided to award the organization. As a small organization, spending so much time on our grant application, creating a video, and prepping for the oral interview was very time consuming and disappointing for us.
One of the interviewers made a culturally incompetent comment during the oral interview showing they are out of touch with marginalized people.
