They have a lot of money, seem to love Catholic education. This is one in which you'll probably have to create a Catholic focused program for them, or have a dire emergency.

Want to apply for $100K from them but not sure we're a fit. Would love to make a connection there.

They fund very specifically according to their current thematic strategy/ies. So if you line up well with their priorities, you'll be funded - in essence to carry out their agenda. But if you have your own agenda, they don't have the flexibility and space to venture outside their own goals and priorities. That said, the Program Officer we have is thoughtful and helpful.

In their endeavor to invest in evidence-based approaches, they miss out on some potentially impactful strategies that don't yet have the evidence to prove their impact - the CNHF foundation would really make a difference in the field if they invested in supporting organizations using grassroots strategies - which they could then build the evidence base around.
The CNHF foundation would really make a difference in the field by investing in supporting organizations using grassroots/locally developed/culturally appropriate strategies, and in supporting them to test out these strategies and build an evidence base for them.
They invest deeply and diversely in the particular issue they are interested in - so they give a lot of money, to a lot of organizations, working at different levels, on one particular issue in a particular region. So the potential for impact is fantastic.
