I would suggest reaching out to the staff to discuss the proposal for guidance, as they specific areas of funding. Staff is friendly and helpful. Do not be too wordy or frilly in your narrative. Straight forward outcomes and measures seem to be best.

I owe so much gratitude to the Benedum Foundation for believing that grassroots community work can help create health in communities and vulnerable individuals. As a physician I realize our medical system is geared for disease treatment but a healthy community involves prevention and that entails much of what the Benedum Foundation have supported over the last five years in our work here in eastern West Virginia. Our work has focused on youth and physical activity as well as lowering cost, educating, and providing more access to healthy food for citizens with food insecurity. Our message is growing to a state wide level and hopefully will continue as we try to tackle obesity and diabetes which at the current time are undefeated.

The grant process was fair and gives opportunity for small projects that have potential for larger reach. Benedum also supports and acknowledges the critical aspect of team-based approaches to health which involve people outside of healthcare.
Again many thanks and let’s keep trying to change the world one community at a time

The sample response may be somewhat true. I would add that if a non-profit is involved with community meetings they would most likely find someone who could assist with making the proper contact with this funder. Their presence is very broad across many sectors of health in WV.
