It's a long shot, but they have a lot to give, so may be worth a try. Application process is long, quirky, and often bordering on non-sensical. Whoever developed it definitely has NOT worked in fundraising.

They are seemingly totally unaware of how much (very limited) time and energy their application process takes. Yes, they have a lot of $$ to give, but honestly, do you have to make it so painful to apply for it?
Make it way simpler for non-profits to apply for funding. Respect the fact that our resources are incredibly limited. If you REALLY want to help us, don't make our already crazy-busy work lives even more so.
Apply only if you're ok with the long odds and long hours to apply.
not approved for funding
At least they are honest that a very small percentage of applicants actually are funded.

Be absolutely sure you receive a confirmation email. Wal-Mart lost our application and after two weeks of "looking into it", sent us a declination letter that had just been written, but that stated that it had been sent two weeks prior. It was not. May be a Cybergrants issue but it should not have happened or taken so long to get an answer, when we could have been focused on a new opportunity. Unprofessional.

They are under the gun for funding heavily in communities where they are looking to open stores.
Answer your emails. We should not have had to resort to Twitter messages to get an answer about a lost application.
Be sure you get a confirmation email when you submit, and check on your application right away. Use Twitter instant messaging and someone will at least be there to tell you they don't know anything. Do not use the email on their site or you will be ignored.
