take the time to review the web site and also to feel free to contact the Executive Director with any questions. Be prepared. You will need to be able to make your case as to the need for the project for which you are requesting funds. But the Day Foundation is fair and open-minded.

Excellent. The Executive Director is always easily accessible and willing to talk about any issues we have, and has, in fact, reached out to us on several occasions to discuss community needs and issues.
Good
Very successful. The Executive Director always seems to have a well-focused lens when considering the needs of the community and the Day Foundation’s role in responding to those needs.
I see no deficit in the current grant process or how the Day Foundation is being run or overseen. The process is simple; the grant questions are direct and to the point; and the decisions made to date, have seemed fair and unbiased.
There is valuable information on their web site that quite effectively and clearly identifies the philosophy, priorities and process of acquiring a grant. It is worth taking the time to read an absorb its contents. Also, to contact the Executive Director with questions. He is happy to speak to inquirers.
The Executive Director has made it a point to participate in many community initiatives, and has made himself knowledgeable in many of the community issues. This has made him a great and necessary addition to any planning table he sits at. His open-mindedness also allows the discussion of many perspectives and ideas to be put on the table. The result is a rich and substantive discussion.

Keeping it simple is so appreciated. This allows small NFP to request funds and not be overwhelmed.

The Executive Director and Board research and understand our community and it's needs. While the focus is on Rock Island, there are opportunities for more regional requests. Professionally organized and run.

They have focus areas, but willing to listen to something a bit outside their scope. They want to partner with organizations that make a difference.
