Enjoyed the opportunity to meet and speak with the program officer. I appreciate the Foundation has narrowed its focus on causes to support. It's great to know where a funder stands which may or may not align with certain worthy missions. I have zero doubt the Foundation supports the work of our organization. Our conversations will not stop.

I would suggest a thorough read-through of the information provided on their website. They have taken the time to put together a clear and easy to manage site, that will most likely answer all of your questions. Just know that the culture of the individuals involved in this Foundation is one of collaboration. They want you to succeed and will help those unfamiliar with the process to do so.

Be prepared with what you want from the funder. Have a good idea of the funder's interest by visiting the funders website. Review the websites of the organizations that have been funded. Have a good written summary of what and why with numbers to support it. Be sure that it is something that you are passionate about and have the documentation to support it: impact stories, numbers, etc.

Funding priorities have changed so I do not have any advice as to how to secure funding at this time. A meeting is always good but no guarantee that you will receive funds.

Pros

Positive leader in the field, Risk taker, Culturally sensitive, Friendly, "Gets" nonprofits and issues, Openminded

They have been interested in learning about and funding new organizations where they can make a significant impact. You might be less likely to receive funding if you are a large institution that they haven't supported in the past.
