One think I particularly respect about WeRaise is how focused their mission is in terms of the kind of initiatives that they fund. They know who they are which is important for maximum impact. The focuses they look for are initiatives involved in workforce development, education, and criminal justice.

Everyone I have ever dealt with at We Raise has been kind, professional, and truly happy to help. I had a grant from them several years back and they still remember my name and my work. Beyond funding, they also offer a variety of resources, conferences, and webinars. I truly cannot recommend We Raise enough! They were a vital part in our ministry's success in our early stages.

Take advantage of all the other resources they offer beyond just the funding. The webinars and conferences are excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable.
This is a Christian based organization. They like to fund mercy and mission projects that are working to impact communities.
They have great communication! If you have any questions about anything related to your grant, the staff are quick to help and quick to respond. The staff truly take pride in their work and that makes grant writing all the better. You know the person receiving the grant request is taking their job seriously.

The criteria to meet to receive funding is easy to understand and pretty straightforward. You should write a grant proposal that is meaningful and embodies the message that We Raise wants to send out into the different communities we live in.

I believe the funder is very successful at accomplishing its philanthropic goals. We Raise is open to funding different ideas and plans as long as the positive work for the communities is being done.

One piece of advice would be to allow grantees to use some funding that has already been provided for other program related costs instead of those that were already mentioned in the original grant budget.
If you are able to become a grant winner your funding may not begin until the following year or the time frame by the funder. Reach out to the funder to ask questions.
The funder, We Raise does a great job at communicating with the grantees and educating the grant winners on how they can continue to be successful at what they do. We Raise management is also easily accessible to ask questions.

We Raise Foundation is an amazing organization. I highly recommend any non-profit contact them if it meets the core mission of the Foundation. The Staff (especially the Director of Programs) were incredibly accessible and helpful throughout the application process.
