Grant Applicant - applied in 2021
Went to a grant writing class prior to the pandemic where the facilitator asked if anyone had been funded by Del Webb. They mentioned in 15+ years they had yet to run into an organization that had been successful. My advice, spend you time wisely and try once and move on like we are.
Doesn't "get" nonprofits and issues, Difficult to work with, Culturally incompetent

Bad
Lack of transparency on how they choose organizations to fund.
I'm thinking they only fund "friends" who lead non-profit organizations.
Bad
Their funding seams all over the place, no vision statement.
Update your website, show that you are proud of your organization.
Website looks like it was designed in 1995 and needs to be updated. Apply with the understanding that you most likely will not get accepted.
They are quick to turn you down. They are brief and to the point - "We cannot provide any information about why your request was declined - please do not ask."

They are extremely transparent regarding their grant making process. Each applicant is able to see on the website the status of their application, where it is in the process, and when they will receive a decision.

There is a lot of detailed information on their website. They are very transparent about who they have funded and what their STATED funding priorities are. However, we find it difficult to get funding from them despite good alignment with these priorities. They do not give feedback on rejected applications, which is very frustrating.

Need to provide feedback on rejected applications. It's hard for organizations to advance their grantseeking efforts without funder feedback. If we don't know what we did wrong, it's difficult to know what to change next time.
Excellent application instructions on their website. Their process is very clearly spelled out with clear explanations for required attachments.

I get the impression you have to have an "in" with somebody there, as four, qualified organizations I've worked with have all had LOIs declined (within 24 hours of submitting).
