The experience was great and although we were not selected I appreciated the transparency and knowledge to do a better ROI next time.

Since you don't know why you didn't get selected or what they're looking for, it can be disheartening to keep applying. Form rejection letters don't divulge much, and just telling folks to apply next year after being told that over 350 applicants overwhelmed them this year isn't helpful.

Let us know what you're really most likely to fund, and take a chance on initiatives and non-profits who aren't the usual big ones that already have loads of money. Think outside the box and fund innovative efforts.

Reviewer 3862 - Grant Applicant - applied in 2017
Regarding WWF's Pooled Fund Grants ($100,000 for general operating support): They hold outreach sessions and a webinar in advance, and are good about answering questions prior to organizations submitting an LOI. But there is no way to get feedback on why an organization's LOI was not selected for a request for full proposal, which makes their member-driven panel review process seem less than transparent and possibly more relationship-based than is advertised.

Please strive to provide at least one sentence of useful feedback to applicants in the LOI stage, so that we don't continue to apply year after year if there is no realistic chance we might be selected for funding.
