Read the grant requirements and make sure that it fulfills the requirements before you begin. Remember that it's not just "money," it's good people investing their hard-earned dollars to make the world a better place, so think about that as you write the grant/dream up ideas. If you were a donor, how would you like your money spent? Then

They know exactly what they want, and how their donors want their money to be used.
It was a bit of a long time between the final application submittal and the "Hey, we funded you (or not) and your money is coming." Most programs are planned in April/May/June for a September launch, so getting a finding notice in mid-August is a bit close.
Gets the message out that they have funds to distribute!

Please let us apply in spring or summer instead of August or September. This way we can use money before the new school year starts and get things ready.

We were invited to apply. The application was very straightforward and clear. They were very intentional to not overburden staff time. They clearly had the applicants in mind when creating the application processes.

Catholic Community Foundation is a wonderful organization to work with. Our school was invited to participate in a marketing grant during the 2017-2018 school year. The grant application took quite a while to complete however it asked very insightful questions that pertain to Marketing. My suggestion is to fully outline your plans with the requested money, and provide a strong reason for your why. Also, make sure you answer all of the questions in their entirety.

CCF is leading their mission very clearly. In our experiences with CCF, the foundation has been nothing but generous in giving to Catholic schools, Parishes and families. CCF truly offers the means to further enhance Catholic organizations, and thus lead more children to Christ, by providing the financial means that may not necessarily be there for special projects (eg: Marketing dollars to have a proper website).
Continue to challenge your grant applicants. Your challenging questions helped create an outline for what and how dollars given should be used.
Whenever I think about what it means to live your mission, I always think of CCF. I cannot think of a better organization that is equally passionate about furthering the mission of Christ and leading more children to Christ.

CCF was wonderful to work with. The staff were helpful, informative and quick to respond to questions. They genuinely seemed to care and take an interest in our organization. The application process was straightforward, easy to complete and didn't require a lot of unnecessary steps or documentation. We had a very positive experience with the whole process and all of the staff we met.
