I work with a number of nonprofit clients and it is not unusual to receive no response from this foundation (Los Angeles office). This can be frustrating after spending the time to complete the application.
You should have a bank manager be the one who initiates the request. We banked with WF, so we had the branch manager initiate the request and then we filled out the online request form.
Pros
Positive leader in the field, Friendly, "Gets" nonprofits and issues, Responsive

If you had one piece of advice to give to this funder (about grantmaking or anything else), what would it be?
Try to fund at the level requested when it's for a specific requested item or program and not a huge amount. We asked for $5000 and we granted $2500 which was great but left us to find another funder for the remainder
Tell us one thing that this funder does really well
They try to fund locally, especially orgs that match their goals or do business with them and that their Managers can vouch for.

For a company of this size I'm surprised at how poorly organized this foundation is. The local branch in a fairly large Minnesota city had no clue what I was talking about. After they finally tracked down a phone number it took about a week for me to hear back from them and then I was told they only fund within Minneapolis. For a financial institution that has so many branches throughout Minnesota I found it very discouraging that they have no funding program for out-state Minnesota. I have banked with Wells Fargo for more than 20 years and was very disappointed.
