To be honest, we did not receive any feedback on our rather modest request for $7500 in funding that was turned down. So I did not have any contact with the funder. It was just an online application form.

As a full-time grant writer, I would always appreciate a brief comment on the reason our proposal was not funded. I looked at the description of 7 programs that were funded, and they all seem very interesting. I realize it's hard to decide on a small number of winners among 300 applications. But there were really no clues given on how to compete.
I really don't have enough knowledge to comment.
Again, we received no feedback, so I have no idea how to answer. Perhaps the funder could provide applicants with more detail on what specific kinds of STEM programs they incline to fund.
