We are so happy for our partnership with the Kenneth King Foundation. They are incredibly connected to those working on the ground with some of our community's most at risk and in need populations. They are responsive and accessible, and work hard to listen to those they work to serve.

I would just ask them to keep doing the work they are doing to stay connected to grantees and connect grantees to each other as well.
I don't think so. The Kenneth King Foundation does an amazing job!
They do a great job listening to the needs of grantees and those they serve.

Thanks for your feedback. We value conversations with organizations prior to proposal development, we believe this helps us all hone in on initiatives that mutually align with the community, nonprofit and foundation goals.

Good
As a grant consultant, I have found accessibility to be better than many foundations. That said, my clients have had mixed results - some hear back pretty quickly, while others wait and have to followup to get a response.
Good
I have heard that the funder is reviewing it's funding priorities and making some changes to better ensure that grant awards align with funding objecitives.

The executive director's prior input and invitation is critical

The Foundation has in the past funded several organizations that help seniors, but it does not appear to fund hospices. (I think that is a change.) Our organization is considering collaborating with a non-profit that helps seniors who are experiencing homelessness have a comfortable roof over their heads during the last days of their lives, and think that the Foundation may have a heart to invest in this critical need.
The executive director was exceedingly accessible. On very short notice the ED went out of her/his way to accommodate questions, including coming into the office to enable us to apply.
It acts quickly!
