Thanks for your thoughtful review! We are happy to hear that the discovery call was helpful for you. We plan to continue offering these and highly encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to speak with a program officer prior to applying for funds.

Overall it was a very positive experience. A call head to conference and fully understand the parameters is best. In doing so, the staff were very responsive- helpful- clear in their communication. It made the completion of the grant very straight forward, no real complications.

Their communication was supportive and not overbearing. We succeeded in our goals thanks to NextFifty which in turn allowed them to accomplish their philanthropic goals.

The application was quite involved and intensive, however the reporting on outcomes and goals was much more positive.
We liked the virtual checkins with the funder. They were able to provide support and recommendations that was critical to our success.

If your organization's mission is aligned with those of NextFifty Initiative's funding priorities, definitely apply for a grant. They are an incredible partner to us, even beyond the funding.

Next Fifty is a wonderful organization to work with. They are dedicated to their mission, and ensure that the organizations that they fund can be focused on the work they undertake and serving elderly populations. They are progressive in their approach to funding and determined to provide support that betters our community.

NextFifty Initiative's staff are accessible and responsive to connect with about a grant proposal. They are also at many aging community events to stay at the forefront of the field.
Good
NextFifty is funding innovative work in the aging sector to meet its philanthropic goals. I think the foundation is largely meeting those goals.
While there are many worthwhile efforts to fund, please make sure to budget for the whole year so that some organizations aren't left out of a funding year due to cycle timing and allocations made early.
NextFifty is responsive to the shifting philanthropic landscape, as it moves towards trust-based philanthropy. NextFifty has done a great job providing flexible support for nonprofits to use as they need within their grant proposals.

Continue with flexible spending. Continue offering multiple rounds of funding to allow more organizations opportunities to vie for funds in different categories...especially in furthering diversity, equity and inclusion.
The entire process of applying was less stressful because you could call and "speak" to someone without difficulty.
There was a meeting of all the grantees online. We were broken into groups. Each group I was in had nothing but great things to say about their funding flexibility and how it boosted morale of staff to be able to allocate funds as needed to make a difference in programs and services.

The NextFiftyInitiative is terrific. They fund short-term projects that involve direct service delivery, as well as support long-term projects that aim to transform how individuals and organizations address the aging population. The staff is supportive, the grant administration is well done. No complaints

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We're sorry to see that your grant application required 40 hours of work. Please know that we have been working hard to simplify both the reporting and application processes so that grantees can spend less time on those and more on your funded programs or projects. If you have additional thoughts on how we could reduce the amount of time needed for the grant application process, please email us at [email protected] or reach out to your program officer. Thank you!
