I would advise to read grant requirements and if they have any questions to call Allegany. My experience with Allegany has always been great. Most importantly, the staff are true to Allegany’s mission. They demonstrate God’s love in how they transact with the grantees. They treat grantees with kindness, they are knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and patient. It is always a pleasure speaking with the Allegany staff.

A phone call to the AFM Director of Grants &Technology got me started early in September. I felt informed of the guidelines and encouraged to try. So I began to work on the Application Form. I tried to follow the guidelines scrupulously, esp. the Criteria. I spent about 25 hours on it in about 5 sittings. Had others review it. Submitted it a day before due date.

Although we weren't funded in this cycle, we have been funded in the past. Someone form the foundation emailed us to let us know, and made themselves available to answer any questions we might have. While we naturally disappointed not to have been funded, we appreciate the clear communication.

The funder is very invested in the community and always appreciates hearing from the grantees. They will ask questions, mainly to ensure the grant would be a solid fit for both their foundation and the grantee. They have invested so much in their service areas and it is evident they care for these communities. Really enjoy working with them and feel very fortunate to receive their grants.
