This foundation communicates well, defining terms and clearly saying what it wants from grantees - even publishing a great book, "Unicorns Unite", that outlines exactly how they believe foundations and non-profits can truly make lasting and strong impact.

From my small perspective, they seem to be very intentional about their philanthropic goals. They listen as well as provide their own ideas.
Know how much you are valued. Continue doing things YOUR way!
I know my views might be influenced by maybe being a good match with this funder. But that seems to be what it is all about - a match between a funder and a non-profit. That seems like the best way to get good work done.
They listen. They appreciate honesty.

I highly recommend partnering with the Peery Foundation. They are true thought partners in the work, are transparent about what they are and are not willing to fund and their timeline. They are truly grantee centric and walk their talk in a way that I haven't experienced before. If you are thinking about working with them, I would highly recommend reaching out directly to get a true read on what's possible.

Peery was accessible and professional even though there was not a fit the first time around. Their intake call system is personal, respectful, and quickly qualifies the opportunity so you don't waste time.

Once we were able to get an introduction, the Peery Foundation remained very accessible.
Good
The Peery Foundation is a very smart and strategic funder.
I'd love if the Foundation could be a bit more available to other organizations in the community - there are alot of really great nonprofits executing exceptional work.
They're really collaborative, and work to ensure the milestones/deliverables and reporting processes are as easy and unburdensome as possible.
Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback! We appreciate your advice to be more available and accessible to organizations. We do often rely on peer funders for referrals and introductions. We also invite prospective organizations to call us to introduce themselves or contact us if they have any questions using the contact information on our website.

In our experience, Peery is passionate about partnering with dynamic leaders and measurable impact. That mean's quantifying your impact as well as demonstrating what you don't know or don't know yet.

Perry is doing a great job funding scalable solutions to complex problems at local, regional and global levels
We would encourage Peery to continue its deeply grantee-centric culture and approach that creates a strong relationship of equality between both grant-maker and grantee
Not at this time.
Peery Foundation is truly grantee-centric, setting them apart from many other foundation partners. There ability to contribute to our organization and positively through partnership has been second to none.
Thanks for taking the time to provide feedback! We appreciate your advice to continue with our grantee-centric approach. We feel that feedback and accountability are critical in this approach, so will we be regularly discussing the feedback we receive via Grant Advisor and reviewing our practices/processes.

Peery is the most grantee-centric funder I know so far. I didn't really know what that term meant until I started having to write grants for other potential funders. They build relationships, take risks, hold you accountable in positive and supportive ways, are interested in learning about your work, and are always looking for ways to improve their work. They make me want to always improve my work too.

The Peery Foundation is my favorite funder! They constantly demonstrate their deep commitment to their grantees' success, taking just as much responsibility for it as we do. They work hard on our behalf—from pitching us to other funders, providing strategic advice when asked, joining our hiring committees, providing capacity-building opportunities like the Duarte Academy, and taking the time to think hard about how they can help any challenges we can face. They also do a great job of looking after the leaders they support, recognizing the intense nature of entrepreneurship on the people involved. And everyone who works there is deeply committed to social impact, to learning, and to engaging with the community in a deep way.

The Peery Foundation is a low-touch, grantee-centric org that walks the walk. They do everything they can to make reporting easy and streamlined for grantees and are fine with common reporting across foundations. One of our favorite funders!
