Peery Foundation is truly great. Very entrepreneur-focused and non-bureaucratic, both essential! They're straightforward and genuinely kind people to work with... qualities which you'd think would apply to most foundations, but sadly doesn't. Peery's unrestricted grants are super powerful, and demonstrate great trust in the founders. They also understand and support founders as *people* -- sometimes the going get's tough, and they've had my back and continued supporting me through a tough year. That really meant a lot to me and my organization. Finally -- I actually had a funny misunderstanding with them... I thought they had a committed to a fifth year of funding, when in fact they had only committed four; when I reached out asking when their fifth year of funding would be wired, they agreed to give me another unplanned year. How great is that?!? I honestly have no negative experiences or constructive feedback about Peery Foundation -- they are awesome people, and their funding has had a truly transformative impact on my company.

Peery has really been a model funder - I only wish others had the grantee centricity that they do. It's obviously hard to be perfect all the time, but I can't think of any funder who has tried more to focus on the needs of the organization and to create the most accountability possible for themselves than Peery. I think the biggest issue in philanthropy is the inherent lack of accountability, and in the end it can only be imposed at the will/desire of the funder. Peery is a model and leader in this regard. I hope others will follow its lead.

Highly positive. I've always found the Peery Foundation forthright about our prospects of securing ongoing financial assistance and highly grantee-friendly (for instance, no requests for separate proposals and willingness to use already-produced performance reports). They are humble and a joy to work with!

Peery Foundation is a great partner (that's right, not just a funder) to work with in achieving your mission. They are the definition of grantee-centric ( a term i didn't even know about until i met them). From being thoughtful enough to schedule meetings in locations that are more convenient for the (prospective) grantee than for them, to insisting that they don't create new work for you in the due diligence process, encouraging you to share existing milestones and planning documents. The team is friendly during the due diligence process and that usual grantor-grantee dynamic of unequal footing goes away a few minutes into any conversation with them once you see how committed they are to supporting social innovation and helping you achieve social impact.

The Peery Foundation has been one of our best partners. They make diligence, applying and reporting very straightforward. They set deadlines that they stick to, and those deadlines are far enough in the future that we can plan accordingly. They willingly make introductions to other funders and endorse us publicly. They are still trying to work out how best to provide technical assistance / in-kind support - they are asking the right questions about this, working to ensure that any support they offer will actually be of help to us.
