The best way is to call the team and set up a meeting with the foundation. They know the process better then anyone and if you have a specific project they will help guide you towards the best way for applying for it. So the grant readers understand the process.

They are the best I've ever connected with. Coming from a person who apples for grants big and small this one is always the most welcomed and helpful.
Keep doing what you do. Strive for more and build your success. Don't change a thing.
The communication of grant they let the whole town know their process and when deadlines are and meetings of necessary. They are so well organized. It's an amazing and honorable experience.

Part of what makes Gilroy a fantastic community is the Gilroy Foundation. Unlike most community foundations that rely on the same people to make decisions, this foundation works hard to educate and include new people.

Gilroy Foundation is always available by email, and members are visible at community events.
Good
Develop an online grant request & review process to save time for both requestors and reviewers. Hardcopies are wasteful of paper and time.
This is a COMMUNITY-focused funder in every sense of the word.
Absolute favorite thing about Gilroy Foundation is their sponsorship of groups that include young people, teaching them about philanthropy, giving them their own budget, and allowing them to make their own decisions under the guidance of adult members. This is building a future in our community that will enable Gilroy Foundation's work to carry on through future generations.

Good
They are an asset to our community on every level of philanthropic involvement.
Keep up the incredible work.
Never be afraid to ask. This organization thinks "outside the box" and each person is personally committed to helping non profits achieve their goals. If not with funding, with personal attendance and support. I have never seen an organization so personally involved with a community.
Invest in our community. They are not an organization where staff just sits behind a desk all day. They are out in the community supporting local non profits and community events. What better way to have your finger on the pulse of a communities needs?

The Gilroy Foundation continues to set the bar for local giving in our community. The vast array of non-profits, schools and other organizations they support are a reflection of our constituency and the overall needs of our community.
The staff and board are very responsive and deeply invested in Gilroy's well-being.
