1. Understand your business's essential funding needs which are not being met. Or, your focus project that needs funding.
2. Have organized succinct information and metrics to support your funding.
3. Allow enough time to gather or create grant requested items not already created (e.g., summary of staff bios on one document).
4. Enjoy the latitude the application framework allows to truly describe your mission and impact. It's absolutely gratifying. Even if we don't receive the grant I feel like I was heard.

Pros

Culturally sensitive, Insightful, Builds relationships, "Gets" nonprofits and issues, Openminded

We made sure to have a meeting to bring our contact person at Cafritz up to date on our current status and activities, and receive advice about what to stress in our application.

Closely read the grant guidance for the narrative and attachments. There were some attachments requested that a funder has never asked for before. Give yourself plenty of time to write, review and submit the application.

Pros

Positive leader in the field, Gives more than money, "Gets" nonprofits and issues

First proposal for my non-profit looks great in our aera and support guidelines. Looking forward to working with their support and guidance.

All American Center is dedicated to helping people help themselves and we have been very successful over the years by working with other non-profits, receiving support from other non-profits, the community, corporations, and other resources.

Our primary goal is the Children’s Fund which was started in 1989 with a single goal – to help underprivileged and disadvantaged children, with education, food, clothing and everyday problems all through the year 24/7 and especially during the holiday season with our well know community Christmas parties over the past 25 years.
