This funder had a huge impact on the amount of food we able to purchased and get delivered to families in need.
I would recommend this funder to all Non-Profits.
I would like to see the funder visit all the Non-Profits that have received funds from them. Redistribution Center, Inc invites them for a visit.

The Redistribution Center, Inc continues to feed hundreds of individuals and families. We could not have been as successful as we were with out their assistance.
I would like to see the funder visit all the Non-Profits that were funded

They should know that from our experience, there was always someone who was available to answer questions and if they weren't available at the time, they always followed up with us. They made the process fun and smooth for us and we are forever appreciative of the team there at Community First Foundation and a special shout out to Noah Atencio for his support.

We just look forward to working along side them once again.
Other than they will support you through the process and make your experience wonderful. The fact that they invest time in learning about the work, the organization, the vision and are willing to come learn about you, your team and the organization with a tour, speaks volumes. It's about relationships and they are truly relationship builders.
Communication is always crucial when you're working with a foundation and their willingness to support you by answering questions, giving guidance if needed. That key ingredient is symbolic of a solid functioning organization.

Connect with the program team first. They are super helpful; open to questions; and give good advice. Try to get them in for a site visit because that can make all the difference.

Excellent! CFF program team is very responsive; open to questions; and gives good advice. They really want to get to know the grantees and they're invested in who they fund.
Good
The 2020 grants of food insecurity and housing instability gave nonprofits the opportunity to apply for a range of angles within the funding area. This made it a very inclusive process and allowed many organizations to find a philanthropic fit. Thank you!
Nothing comes to mind right now. Maybe this: One of our funders has a grantee reception, which I think is another opportunity to get to know the program team. Also, it's a good way to meet the other grantees and have the opportunity to socialize on a little more personal level. One of the grantees could also host the grantee reception at their facility.
Just a clarification on an above question: In 2019 and 2020, some of the grants didn't require that much time and others were a little bit more extensive. Very open-minded funder that welcomes different ideas and perspectives. Thank you!
Funded for both the amount requested, as well as for lesser amount.
CFF is truly interested in the work their grantees are doing. They are super helpful throughout the entire grant process. The entire program team is very knowledgeable in general about the philanthropic landscape in Denver. Great to work with!
