NellieMae Foundation is super responsive in answering questions, staff very personable and understanding of the many dynamics of nonprofits. I personally appreciate when funders come and do sight visits it shows they care about where their funding is going and wants the best for the organization

Excellent applicant support. Sorely needed capacity building funding is most welcome as is support for organizations led by people of color in low-income communities. Kudos NMEF!
Support for applicants. They afford great flexibility in the grant application to minimize the amount of information you have to create from scratch. They welcome alternative formats such as videos, art and other presentations that demonstrate your work.

The initial webinar is not worth the 90 mins; it's a readthrough of the RFP.

NMEF provides great information about their focus and details regarding their RFP. They are focused on impact in the NE Region, however they are open to supporting national organizations who meet their requirement around being community-focused. Additionally, they are cognizant of how to make the applications process easy for organizations and specifically mention to repurpose existing content recent grant proposals as it makes sense.

Not that I can think of at this time.
They have clear areas of focus and awareness around the power and privilege they hold as a funder, which demonstrates how they are acting out their values.
N/A
They are transparent about their focus and process.
