To have a contact info page to ensure that our questions are being answered is great.

With the epidemic still currently impacting our students and already being so tight with our budget it is amazing to see we are being supported.
Ensuring that the grant is going to the right funds. I think the questions were great in making sure we could elaborate on what the goal is.

This is my first time applying for Nellie Mae Foundation grant funds but I would recommend drafting details in advance because there is a strict limit on the number of characters/words for each section of the application.

I really appreciated the focus on meeting the needs of remote learners and the emphasis on improving engagement and mental health of students impacted by COVID. I also appreciate the quick turnaround time between the application and the funding of projects.
Perhaps allow for longer responses for each question because each question on the grant application had several parts, all deserving of a comprehensive response.
I love that Nellie Mae Foundation has young people reviewing the grants created to serve young people since the beginning of COVID. I felt that the grant reviewers for the Rapid Response grant would appreciate the critical needs of these teens who are so profoundly impacted by the pandemic.

I was very impressed with the rapid response funding opportunities and the funder's commitment to getting support to organizations expeditiously and was even more impressed with the funder's choice to involve young people in the design of the RFP, which reflects a strong understanding of what potential grantees really need right now.

Log into the portal ahead of time to see if there are word or character limits to each application question. The funder suggests completing your responses in a Word document before transferring to the portal, but you don't know about word or character limits until you are actually in the portal.
