Log into the portal ahead of time to see if there are word or character limits to each application question. The funder suggests completing your responses in a Word document before transferring to the portal, but you don't know about word or character limits until you are actually in the portal.

Creating the budget first helped guide us in what we really wanted to get out of the grant. Once we started discussing what we wanted/needed, we then had to justify to each other. This gave us more purpose, and made the other aspects of the grant easier.
